Your Friends of Scouting contribution is needed
When you support the Southwest Michigan Council Friends of Scouting program, you help to provide a wide array of services to thousands of Scouts in your community. These are just a few of the ways your F.O.S. gift supports quality programs:
- Service to nearly 10,000 youth in Berrien, VanBuren, Kalamazoo, Calhoun, Branch and St. Joseph counties
- A fully-stocked Scout Shop with uniforms, literature, program supplies and achievement materials
- A Scout Service Center with a full time professional staff and support team to assist with registration, advancement support, and program consultation
- Satellite Scout Service Center’s and Scout Shops in Battle Creek and Benton Harbor
- Provide an excellent camp facility in Rota-Kiwan Scout Reservation for year round use to Scouts, leaders and families
- Supports communications through the “Scribe” newsletter and our website, www.bsaswmc.org
- Provide camp scholarships and other assistance to Scouts in need
- Supported 74 Eagle Scouts in 2007
- 3 local Scouts were recognized with the Heroism Award for Lifesaving
- 99 youth participated in mountain treks at Philmont in Cimarron, NM, sailing adventure in the Florida Keys or traveled outside the United States
