Your Friends of Scouting contribution is needed

When you support the Southwest Michigan Council Friends of Scouting program, you help to provide a wide array of services to thousands of Scouts in your community.  These are just a few of the ways your F.O.S. gift supports quality programs:

  • Service to over 6,500 youth in Berrien, VanBuren, Kalamazoo, Calhoun, Branch and St. Joseph counties.
  • A fully stocked Scout Shop with uniforms, literature, program supplies and achevement materials.
  • A Scout Service Center with a full time professional staff and support team to assist with registration, advancement support, and program consultation.
  • Satellite Scout Service Center and Scout Shop in Benton Harbor and a new Scout Service Center and Scout Shop opening in Battle Creek.
  • Provide an excellent camp facility in Rota-Kiwan Scout Reservation for year round use to Scouts, leaders and families.\
  • Provide camp scholarships and other assistance to Scouts in need.
  • Supported 106 Eagle Scouts in 2008.
  • 1 local Scout was recognized with the Heroism Award for Lifesaving.
  • A new "Iceberg" climbing and swimming platform at Rota-Kiwan Scout Reservation.
  • Human Foos-Ball Court, featured in Boy's Life magazine at Rota-Kiwan Scout Reservation.
