Internet Rechartering will be available
on November 1st, 2011!

Welcome to the Southwest Michigan Council Internet Rechartering website page. Here you will find everything you need to make sure that you submit your recharter on-time!

All charters are due December 1st!

So how do you begin?

  • Sixty days before your unit's expiration date, select a Unit Renewal Processor. This individual will have access to the Internet Charter Renewal system and will be the person identifying returning members, adding new members and will update information for individuals or the chartered organization. This person will also need to have access to Microsoft Internet Explorer browser for this application to open and view the pages correctly.

  • On November 1st the renewal processor will have access to the website and begin the process by taking the tutorial. Whether you are a seasoned processor or first-timer, this is is great information and only takes minutes to complete.

Once you have completed stage 2, step 2 print your roster and stop. This is a perfect point to review your roster with your volunteers, Scouts and everyone who is listed on your roster. Double check addresses, Unit positions, phone numbers and email addresses and write these changes in a very organized way.

Before going back into the rechartering process, collect all completed "Youth Application for new Scouts", signed by the parent and unit leader and completed "Adult Leader Applications for Adults" being added to your unit. the leader application must be signed by the applicant, the committee chair, and the chartered organization representative. The leader applications must list the correct socail security number. The leader application must also be submitted with the signed Disclosure/Authorization page.

Training records and advancement records can not be updated online.  These updates must be turned in with your recharter paperwork.  To update training records turn in a Training Attendance Report that lists the Adult's name, name of training course(s) taken and the date of the course(s).  To update advancement records list the scouts' name and all ranks missing on an advancement form.   This will ensure that the data will be entered into ScoutNet is a timely manner.

IMPORTANT:  When registering youth and adults that are registered in more than one unit (ex. - Charter Representatives) they only need to pay once!  When you get to the "update fees" section of the online rechartering (2nd to last step after validation) you can select the member and mark them as paid in another unit.
