The Southwest Michigan Council, Boy Scouts of America, prides itself in operating Rota-Kiwan Scout Reservation located at 6278 Texas Drive approximately 1 mile northeast of Texas Corners Township in western Kalamazoo, Michigan.
At Rota-Kiwan Scout Reservation you will find over 199 acres of beautiful terrain dotted with oak, pine, maple, cedar and poplar. Rota-Kiwan has frontage on Bass Lake and Scouter’s Pond. Fish and wildlife are plentiful.
In operation since 1921 the camp is rich in program, a perfect setting for your Scouts of all ages to experience real a Scouting adventure! Rota-Kiwan Scout Reservation hosts two camping facilities – a Cub Scout camp and a separate Boy Scout camp.

Our Boy Scout “side” dates back to the 1950’s and is centered on our 225 seat Scout Dining Hall. Twelve troop campsites complete with nearby modern shower houses and flush toilets are available. During our summer camp season we have a well equipped 350 seat firebowl complete with sound system and lighting; Scoutcraft area; first class Handicraft area; a lakefront Aquatics area with a swimming area that includes a floating “Iceberg” and rowboats, canoes, kayaks, and small sail boats; an awesome Conservation/Ecology area, a low C.O.P.E. course with a horizontal climbing building; an updated Shooting Sports area; a new Fine Arts program area (photography and cinematography,) and one of the best first year camper programs in the state – The Pedro Patrol.
During the year-round season we have the campsites, firebowl, several heated cabins and three heated shower houses available for rent.
Our Cub Scout “side” is the home of the first Cub World in the United States! Built in the late 1980’s we have a 200 seat Cub Scout Dining Hall, six cabins and three “themed villages. “ Cubs and their parents can book the “Frontier Fort;” “Indian Village;” or “Trapper Village.” We also have 2 campsites with wall tents as well. During summer camp we offer BB gun shooting; archery; Cubcraft; a Nature Nook; a well equipped Aquatics area; and a beautiful Cub firebowl.
During the year-round season we have the heated dining hall with shower facilities, and six heated cabins available for rental.
