PRESENTING:
The Medieval Times
It is a time of Castles and Knights, Fair Maidens and Wizards! It is the Medieval Times, here at Camp T. Ben Johnston on the beautiful Rota-Kiwan Scout Reservation! When your Scouts arrive for their adventure, they will step back to that magical time and live the life of a Squire while training to be a fabled Knight of the Table Round!
Your adventure begins when you are met by your staff, all dressed as if they had just stepped out of Camelot! You will be taken to your Village, each designated by a royal color with their own standard, and proceed to tour the realm of the kingdom in which you’ll be staying for the next three days.
On that first day, you’ll visit all the Squire training areas including the Craft Area, Nature, BB range, Archery range and the pristine Bass Lake Swimming Area. After a dinner fit for a king, we’ll all meet for an Opening gathering and campfire, heralding in the next day’s adventures, topping off your first day in this mystic Kingdom.
Day Two of your adventure allows for leaders to tailor their adventure to the advancement need of their Scouts as all areas are open and ready to do business, serving the Squires of the Land as they learn more about Cub Scouting and their roles as Squires. Day Two will end with dinner and a campwide game designed to see what the Squires learned during the day.
Day Three begins with a breakfast feast and the adventure continues with more fun and excitement at the different program areas. The day culminates with a tournament of knightly games and contests fit to make King Arthur jealous! A final Medieval Feast will be served and eaten purely Medieval style—with no utensils!
A final campfire starring the Scouts rounds out the adventure and bids a fond adieu to those historic times until next year when you return to celebrate “Our American Heritage” at Cub Scout adventure Camp at Rota Kiwan Reservation!
